We spent 5 weeks exploring beautiful South Africa, visiting many beaches, hiking and seeing some of the most breathtaking sights in Drakensberg and Table Mountain of Cape Town, spending quality time with family, and much more.

After starting in Sun City for a week, we flew back to Durban, from where we drove down to where we would be staying for the next two weeks, Mtwalume. In the middle of our stay in Mtwalume, we drove to the amazing Drakensberg mountain range where we went on many amazing hikes. After our short stay there, we returned to Mtwalume where we continued our ventures out to nearby destinations and also spent time with family over the Christmas period. After Mtwalume, it was time to take on the Garden Route (N2), a very scenic drive all the way down to Cape Town. Our night stops on the way to Cape Town included East London, Port Elizabeth, Knysna and Somerset West before arriving in Cape Town on New Years Eve. Easily the highlight of the popular bustling Cape Town was the breathtaking 4.5 hour hike up to the top of Table Mountain via the Skeleton Gorge trail.

Being vegan in South Africa was relatively easy given that most of the time there we were in a rental unit with a kitchen. Eating out was sometimes challenging, however in Cape Town this was not a problem 🙂
